THE STORY

HANmademacrame (pronounced: han-maid-meh-cra-mei) came about in February 2018 when Hanifah Tohir (AKA HAN) was in search for an artwork to fill her empty walls of the apartment. She had always desired a coastal look for her sanctuary and she had outgrown the paintings she once owned. After endless research she turned to fibre art, in particular - MACRAME.

With knotting skills up her sleeve and meters of cotton rope she began her first piece in her living room. Unbeknown friends took interest and started purchasing her one-of-a-kind macrame wall hangings. Han became obsessed with macrame and hasn’t been able to stop. She now uses macrame as her creative outlet and her meditative practice.
